USAID’s YouthPower project announces the launch of YouthPower.org, a premiere resource on positive youth development and cross-sectoral approaches in international development.
Over half of the global population is under the age of 30. Responding to the needs and aspirations of youth is essential to tackling the world’s greatest challenges. YouthPower.org is a learning hub aiming to advance solutions to improve young lives. Driven by the needs of youth-led and youth-serving institutions, YouthPower brings together people and the latest news, events, and technical materials to help build the knowledge base of what works in positive youth development and cross-sectoral approaches.
YouthPower uses a positive youth development approach to implement programs within and across sectors. As a USAID agency-wide project, YouthPower seeks to improve the capacity of youth-led and youth-serving institutions and engage young people, their families and communities so that youth can reach their full potential. All YouthPower task orders promote a culture of learning by sharing technical reports, tools, and products through this website.
Lancet Commissioners Prof George Patton (@gcpatton1), Prof Susan Sawyer (@susansawyer01) from The University of Melbourne and the Centre for Adolescent Health (CAH), Dr Suzanne Petroni (@suzp) from ICRW and project team members Dr Nicola Reavley (The University of Melbourne – School of Population Health) and Kristina Bennett from CAH are members of the collaborative team working on the broader YouthPower project, in conjunction with Making Cents International.
